Dr. Mahanti performed cataract surgery on both my eyes. I was barely able to see out of my left eye due to a very well-developed cataract. I was unable to drive and my peripheral vison was nonexistent. After the surgery, which was quick and totally painless, my vision and peripheral vision was completely restored; same for the right eye a week later. I was amazed. I would recommend Dr. Mahanti and his great staff to anyone. Very satisfied.

I am probably the only patient who has been looking forward to cataract surgery for most of my life. I have been beyond legally blind without my glasses for decades, and couldn’t wait to trade my old lenses for some new ones! I have been seeing Dr. Mahanti for many years, and when my retinal specialist told me he was one of the best in Arizona for cataract surgery, I was elated that I wouldn’t have to go to Phoenix. Every step of the process was explained to me in great detail, both by Dr. Mahanti and Colin, the magical math genius! The entire staff was friendly, courteous, and wonderful! The surgical procedure was painless, and was over in about 15 minutes. I couldn’t wait to take my patch off to see the results! Not wanting to wear glasses ever again, I chose the Symphony Extended Focal Length lenses, and was amazed with the results! Each lens was chosen with care and extensive calculations, to be the best for my eyes. Now I see clearly with 20/20 distance vision, and ~ 20/30 close vision. I could not be happier with the results! Starting with my first visit, the office staff was extremely competent and professional. Service was on time, quickly explained, and insurance questions answered with accuracy. But beyond professionalism, they were courteous, kind, and helpful. Every question was answered quickly and correctly. I felt as if I was the only patient in the office, while in fact many others patients were there. When taken to the care area I met Collin. I had already been told by friends who see Dr.Mahanti, to expect meeting this well educated, trained and caring professional. He made preliminary exams quick and easily understood. Dr Mahanti’s skill and the way he runs his office is top notch. From the moment you enter the office you encounter friendly competence and professionalism. By the time you see Dr Mahanti the preparatory testing has all been efficiently performed so that Dr Mahanti can proceed with his analysis and other testing requiring his skill. All of this is done in a timely and competent manner. I recently had an eye issue which Dr, Mahanti correctly diagnosed, but wanted a second opinion. He referred me to an excellent specialist in Phoenix who agreed with the diagnosis. This points to the excellence and competence of Dr Mahanti. It speaks to me of the desire to be correct in treatment of patients and where an additional verification is useful, Dr Mahanti is humble enough to get another specialist to help in diagnosis. This is the kind of Dr I want watching over my health….a skilled competent Dr. who validates his treatment of patients when there is some uncertainty in what he sees. I needed emergency care while visiting in Flagstaff and was recommended to Dr. Robert Mahanti. I’m so grateful to this doctor that took me in on the spur of a moment and performed a laser procedure to close a torn retina. Although he had a waiting room full of patients, he was kind enough to realize that I was anxious and afraid and explained the urgency of my eye problem and assured me that he would help me right that moment. I have been a patient ( as have my children) with Dr, Mahanti for nearly 20 years. I recently needed an appointment and I explained, I am a single mom with 4 kids and I work daily till 5:00pm. Dr. Mahanti and his staff stayed after hours to accommodate me. This was not a standard appointment. I had to actually have my eyes dilated and the exam was very detailed. Dr. Mahanti was patient, understanding, compassionate and truly made me feel like my business was a priority.

Thanks to Dr. Mahanti and his staff, I was able to be seen and not have to miss work. Everyone from the scheduler to the nurse treated me with the utmost respect. I cannot recommend this surgeon strongly enough. I wish all my other medical providers cared as much as this office does. A+
