Meet Our Staff

Benjamin V. Clingan, OD

The Eye and Laser Center is pleased to welcome our new Optometrist, Benjamin V. Clingan, O.D., to our practice. Dr. Clingan is a highly skilled and licensed optometrist who will provide a host of services related to eye health, including routine eye examinations, eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions, the diagnosis of glaucoma and cataracts, and treatments for eye disorders.Dr. Clingan received his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona and continued on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. After obtaining his Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Clingan continued his service in the United States Army as an optometrist and was stationed in Ft. Jackson, South Carolina where he screened half of all US Army recruits. He also served at Ft. Hood, Texas where he was Commander of an optometry team.

As an Arizona native, Dr. Clingan and his wife are excited about their move to Flagstaff. Relocating here brings them closer to family and gives them an opportunity to become an integral part of our strong community. Also, as avid outdoor enthusiasts, they also look forward to enjoying our beautiful mountain on the trails and slopes.


Suzi Coleman, LDO

Suzi has been a licensed dispensing optician in Arizona for many years and has extensive experience in fitting both eyeglasses and contact lenses. Individual assistance in lens and frame selection is her specialty, based on individual tastes and prescription requirements. She serves as the current secretary on the Arizona State Board of Dispensing Opticians.

Valarie Kautzman, ABOC

Valarie has been practicing as a dispensing optician for years. New to Northern Arizona, she specializes in high fashion frame styling and is highly knowledgeable in various lens designs and materials. She is certified by the American Board of Opticians.
